“After a lot of work and some test trials, I figured out a semi-easy way to insert a pin it! button into my wordpress.com blog. I wrote a post about it that gives step by step directions. Hope this helps my fellow wordpress.com-ers! Follow the steps below to add a Pin It! button to any wordpress.com blog post. I have to warn you, this is time-consuming if you want to add a button to every post or every photo.” via Pinterest Pin it! Button « WordPress.com Forums.
You can put the code for the Pinterest follow button in a text widget.
1. Go to this site, choose which one of the red Follow Me images you want, and copy the code for it. http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/
2. Then, go to your widgets > Appearance > Widgets and select a text widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
3. Paste the Pinterest follow button code into the text widget, “save” the widget, “close” the widget and place it where you want it to display in your sidebar.

Hi! I was trying to follow the same directions for copying and pasting the Pinterest profile widget code to the Text widget in WordPress, but somehow the code just reverts to a simpler one when I click “save” and doesn’t appear on my page at all! Could you give me some pointers? Thanks in advance!
I’m sorry but I have no additional assistance that I can provide to you. Will you please post to the support forums for help? http://en.forums.wordpress.com
Thank you so much! A really easy to understand instruction ….. It worked!
I’m happy to hear you succeeded. Best wishes to you. :)
You address how to put the ‘follow’ button for Pinterest on, but do you know how to include the ‘pin’ button, which would allow my readers to pin my content?
Thanks,
Lindsey

Just got on board with Pinterest so every lesson is much appreciated. Thanks :)
You’re welcome.
Thanks for this!
I’d love to know if putting it in the widget, means the reader/user “pins” just to the useful/interesting web site/blog in general or can choose to pin from the generic widget to a specific article/photo? I haven’t tried Pininterest yet.
Here’s how it works Jean.
Thanks so much!
