I’m not clear as to whether this TypeKit is a free feature for wordpress.com users. Or, if we simply get a free trial and then have to pay for a subscription. I’m waiting for wordpress.com Staff to give us the straight goods on that.

It is really an excellent feature, I have activated my account at typekit, but I am not sure how to integrate this with wordpress. As of now very few support documents available about this topic. I will do more research after christmas.

Hello there. I think that the announcement in the TypeKit blog was a little premature as it seems that all systems are not “go” on the wordpress.com end of things as yet.

Hello TT, Happy Holiday I tried Out the TypeKit Font but still having an unsuccessful time getting it to display the new font for my article headlines with the supporting browsers they mentioned that work so I’m guessing that WP.com staff haven’t flicked on the switch for this new feature yet. Also when I signed up for an account they did offer a free account with a limited font library

Hello. I’d like to change my font on my header on my newish blog. Is it possible now with Typekit? I’d like to have a hand written font. I’ve already registered with typekit. I tried to follow their advice on change source code but I don’t think I can do that since I’m a wordpress.com user. What do you think? You seem to know all of the answers.

We cannot access the templates in our wordpress.com blogs and edit the underlying php and html. However, if we choose to pay for a CSS upgrade and undertake CSS editing then we can change font styles and colors throughout the entire blog.

Which wordpress.com bloggers is the TypeKit feature aimed at?
I could be wrong, but I think the anticipated wordpress.com users of TypeKit are those who purchase the CSS upgrade from wordpress.com. They can undertake the work of editing the CSS stylesheets for their blogs, or who hire 99 designs to do it for them.
Here’s the link to the TypeKit site. Maybe you can glean more from it than I can. From the looks of this page we wordpress.com user may have to choose “a plan,” and as wordpress.com have yet to make an announcement, I have no idea why the blogosphere is full of bloggers parroting: “Got a wordpress.com blog – TypeKit is baked in”. At this juncture, wordpress.com bloggers have yet to uncover what “baked in” actually means.
