Thank you for your help. I have read some of what you have posted above, but after a short while I get lost in the jargon.... The support page was helpful, up to a point. The first three steps are the same as I am experiencing, but from there on, what I get is not what is shown in the examples.

May I mention a specific here, as I have now successfully uploaded some pics (have no idea how to find out if they are the required size), and even re-sized some to fit the space available.

But I have struck a brick wall with one, where I only want part of the photo published.

Using the link for support that you posted, to download photos off my computer, I don't have any problem with steps 1 thru 3.

On completion of step three the 'Add an Image' window shows the image, (together with the boxes for title, description, etc.).

Immediately below the image it has a button 'edit image'.

That button then brings up the image with the 'crop', 'rotate', 'flip', etc. buttons above the image, and 'cancel' and 'save' buttons below the image. I want to crop the image.

I click on crop, and then on the image, which then allows me to draw a box around that part of the image I wish to insert into my blog. Next I click on the 'save' button immediately below the image. (Up to this point I think I am pretty clear that what I am doing is correct.)

The title is correct. I leave all other boxes empty.

The 'alignment' and 'size' default to 'center' and 'full size'. I have left them as they are. (Should I be changing these?)

Immediately below that, there is a button 'Insert in Post' and a 'delete' link next to it. When I have clicked on 'Insert into Post', the image which shows in my blog is the original uncropped image.

Down the very bottom of this 'Add an Image' window there is a button marked 'Save all changes'. When I have clicked on this, and then on 'Insert into Post', the the image which shows in my blog is the original uncropped image.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? How do I get only that part of the image I want, to show?
