  3. Excellent tips Meghana… I am surprised at the maturity levels of your writing while maintaining the simplicity. Writer’s block is one of the issues I have been trying to deal with lately as well.

    Cheers,
    Ajith

  4. Heh heh. Yeah, the old writers block gets me from time to time too. It’s amazing how a mere comic strip can become a ravenous beast for ideas… the fresher the better! That’s why I’m glad that my wife is a writing partner, which is something else that might work for some of your fellow blog readers/writers. “Two heads are better than one” as the saying goes.

  5. @ SBA – “gorging on favorite food” works fie for me. ummm…yummy!! But if it becomes a habit for you, look for some other method:)

“Sleeping over it” – I agree and is the best method I’ve found.

“writing with a pen” – But if you can’t decipher your own handwriting, LOL!… better leave it. Who knows, what you end up with :) Why not use the age old typewriter, instead? :)

“commenting on a post can get your juices flowing…” _ I agree with you fully. Thanks for the feedback.

  6. MegnaK, you certainly gave us some ideas! Not sure about ‘gorging on favorite food’ since this could become habit forming. Anyway, I like #4 as it reduces the stress and you come back with fewer barriers and new ideas from the break activities. #5 is hard for me, it’s been so long since I’ve written by hand, I sometimes can’t decipher my handwriting. Some times it helps to start with the ending or last sentence and work your way up to it. For blogging just commenting on a post can get your juices flowing…

  7. @ Lim- Picking up a fight, (debate would be a better word), is a great idea! I hope others reading it will benefit. Listening to music will work, hundred percent guaranteed!

  8. Yeah… agree !!
I would like to add some of my ways to break that writer’s block.
    -Listen to Music
It is also one of the ways to relax your mind, be it classical or rock. As long it is the music you love, your mind will be carried into the tempo of music. Read the lyric, and feel the song. So you can bring more feeling into your writing.

    -Ask for a Fight
Sometimes I’ll intentionally picking a fight with my friends. Well, it is just something unnecessary like playing games. We discuss the strategy and I can learn something from the fight.

Like the post, short and simple… ^^
