I am ur old friend from Blog Catalog. 2 points I’d like to mention:

1)Getting a link/authority from a higher ranked blog shoots ur Technorati rank more than getting authority from a blog with a similar/lower rank. So technorati authroity works like Google Pagerank.

2)Technorati tracks over 100 million blogs and the website regularly comes up with the error page Duh! the monster escaped again. What I mean to say is that they miss a lot of these link exchanges. So bloggers don’t be disheartened if it happens. Keep working to improve ur Technorati rank coz it’s really important if u wanna monetize ur blog.
