Update! Please take note of this update.
There is no elegant way to embed a poll in a wordpress.com blog. Since there have been many previous requests and questions, there are many previous forum threads.
I’ve been roaming the internet and testing the ones that I can find that may be useful to wordpress.com bloggers. To locate the links to the third party sites please click Resources and look under blogging polls and blogging surveys.
Would you try again and see what happens please?
Oh darn. when I voted, and clicked the “return” button, it told me the poll didn’t exist.
Thanks for testing this!
Hmmmm … the poll definitely exists but I did set it up so that you could only vote once. When I have some time I’ll look into this. Thanks again for letting me know what you experienced.
It remembered me, and wouldn’t let me vote again! (which is a good thing, really.)
Then I tried to go back and got this:
“The specified poll does not exist, please contact the owner of the poll.”
I’m using my mac, and firefox, so that could be the problem, but issues with firefox are rare. If I get time today, I’ll try on my PC.
Like this one better than the other one. The results image is nice.
I used FF 2.0.0.5 with Fedora 7 (darn I wish they would update the repositories already).
I like it better too but I wish it was small enough to fit into a sidebar and still had readable text.
Hi Judy,
I agree with the two points you made. However, it should be noted that the other less attractive one does have a “threaded message/discussion” feature that this one lacks. I think there may be times that I would choose the other poll because of that and because it has a link back to your blog.
the trouble with this one is there was no way (that i could see) to get back to your blog. I had to use the back button.
Visually, this one kicks the other one’s butt.

Why not try GFXPOLL.com it’s a new site for unique graphical polls!
Hope you like it!
Hi Eric,
Have you looked under blogging polls on my Resources page?
That’s where you will find a list of all the links to 3rd party polls, including the one you mention. :-)
